By MeterEase · Updated

TurboTenant is landlord software for marketing rentals, screening, leases and online rent collection. Its help center shows landlords can create a charge in a Utility category, entered as an amount per lease.

Price

MeterEase is $14/month (Starter, up to 4 units), $34/month (Growth, up to about 20 units) or $69/month (Portfolio, up to 50 units, then $1.50 per unit over 50), with a 7-day Growth trial. A card is required. See MeterEase pricing.

Where TurboTenant is the better fit

  • A free plan with listings, screening and online rent collection, which MeterEase does not offer.
  • Tenants pay utility charges online alongside rent, with automatic reminder emails.

How MeterEase is different

  • TurboTenant’s help center describes entering a utility charge amount. MeterEase calculates that amount: it reads the master bill and splits it by percent, square footage, bedrooms or occupants, with a vacancy rule.
  • Each tenant’s email shows how their share was calculated, with the source bill attached.
  • Use both if you like: MeterEase does the split, then you create the charge in TurboTenant.

MeterEase is a math helper, not legal advice. You choose the split method and own the lease terms. Try thefree RUBS calculator first, or read what RUBS is.

Run this split every month without the spreadsheet

MeterEase reads the master bill PDF, applies your method and vacancy rule, and emails each tenant their share with the source bill attached, after you check the numbers. Plans start at $14/month.

Questions

Does TurboTenant calculate RUBS?

Their help article on creating charges, checked October 14, 2026, describes choosing a Utility category and entering an amount. We did not find a tool there that divides a master bill across units.

Can I use MeterEase with TurboTenant?

Yes. MeterEase works out and emails each share. You then add the amount as a charge in TurboTenant so the tenant can pay there.
